Hysteroscopy In Infertility

When a woman has difficulty in bearing a child due to blockage in the fallopian tubes, Hysteroscopic tubal cannulation is suggested. Hysteroscopic tubal cannulation opens the blockage in the fallopian tubes.
Hysteroscopy is also considered for women with septate uterus where there is a septum inside the uterine cavity. It is an abnormality in the uterus which happens during fetal development before birth. Women with the septate uterus are at an increased risk of miscarriage. Hysteroscopic septal resection can correct this deformity without an abdominal incision.
The presence of adhesions in the uterine cavity does not allow implantation of embryo, thereby leading to infertility. Hysteroscopy is the gold standard for accurate diagnosis and treament of intrauterine adhesions.
Fibroids in the uterine cavity and cervical canal can cause infertility. Hysteroscopic removal of fibroids also can be done depending on the location of the fibroid, thereby avoiding abdominal incision.
